This original artwork was hand-painted by Jason Strozkiy and is completely one of a kind. No two pieces created will ever be exactly the same.

The Story Behind This Artwork

Sonset was the first painting I created with the intention of selling it.

I originally pictured the textured lines in rainbow colours but the more I explored the idea, the more it started to look like a colour chart so I decided to take it in a different direction.

At the time, I was trying to convince Sonny to watch The Lion King with me. He isn’t really interested in movies unless Ms Moni is in them, but it ended up inspiring the direction of this artwork.

I began picturing a sunset disappearing behind distant mountains as James Earl Jones says, “Everything the light touches.”

That feeling became the inspiration behind Sonset.

🧡 More Than Just Artwork

Our son Sonny was diagnosed with CLN2 Batten disease at just two years old. My wife Sarah and I created Sonny’s Canvases as a way to share our family’s story, raise awareness and help support Sonny’s journey and our search for future treatment.

Every artwork sold means so much to our family. When you bring one into your home, you’re becoming part of something much bigger than art.
