The Story Behind This Print
This was only my 4th artwork and I was still obsessed with creating moon like texture. I wanted to make a statement piece where the black river running through the centre catches your eye first and then you begin to notice all the texture surrounding it.
A little fun fact... I created this piece using a mixture of modelling paste and joint compound from Bunnings. Because I don’t know exactly how the joint compound will hold up over time so I’ve decided not to sell the original! The safest option is to keep this one available exclusively as a print.
🧡 More Than Just a Print
Our son Sonny was diagnosed with CLN2 Batten disease at just two years old. My wife Sarah and I created Sonny’s Canvases as a way to share our family’s story, raise awareness and help support Sonny’s journey and our search for future treatment.
Every print sold means so much to our family. When you bring one into your home, you’re becoming part of something much bigger than art.
